You’ll find plenty of
sunshine, clear blue water and friendly people in South Grand Lake… a great
place for shopping, dining, lodging, marinas and fishing.
Area attractions include
Picture in Scripture Amphitheater
and Pensacola Dam,
the world’s largest multiple arch dam. Take a tour, play golf or get
on your 4x4 underneath its arches. The Pensacola Dam Tourist
Information Center is staffed with volunteers to answer questions and make
the most of your Grand Lake visit.
Consider planning your trip around some of
the area’s annual events: September’s Hook ‘N Cookoff or December’s
Lighted Christmas Boat Review and land parade.
For campers, South Grand Lake’s six state
parks offer lots of opportunities.
Disney
Located at the dam’s east end,
Disney is a good starting point for a Grand Lake Getaway. Friendly
merchants provide everything from camping and water sports gear to fishing
tackle and picnic supplies. You’ll also find gifts and groceries as
well as boat sales and service.
Langley
On the west end of
the Pensacola Dam lies Langley, with an abundance of good restaurants,
grocery and retail shops. A must-do is a tour of the dam’s
hydroelectric facility. Contact the GRDA Lake Patrol office at (918)
782-9594 for a schedule of free tours Memorial through Labor Day.
Duck
Creek & Cleora
Grand Lake’s Duck
Creek arm is one of the lake’s most developed areas. Here you’ll find
several large marinas, beautiful private homes and condominiums, a golf
club and two yacht clubs. Cleora is known for some of the lake’s premier
fishing. This part of the lake is easily accessible from Highway 85.
Ketchum
Ketchum offers
everything you’ll need to fully enjoy Grand Lake: Fine dining,
nightclubs, marinas, lodging and other supplies and services are
available. Ketchum’s Airport
is now paved and lots of additional improvements are planned.
