Chernicky Is New GRDA Chairman

James Frasier David Chernicky J. W. Perry

David Chernicky (Tulsa) has been elected to serve as the new chairman of the Grand River Dam Authority Board of Directors. Chernicky was elected to the post by the GRDA Board during its October 13 meeting in Vinita. He takes over the GRDA leadership post from outgoing Chairman J. W. Perry (Cleveland). At the same meeting, James Frasier (Afton), was elected to the board’s vice chairman post.

Chairman Chernicky is president and chief executive officer of New Dominion Oil Company in Tulsa. He first joined the GRDA Board in August 2003 and was elected vice chairman at the board’s September 2003 meeting. He was appointed to the GRDA Board by Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry, and serves as the board’s industrial/commercial customer representative.

Vice Chairman Frasier is a partner in the Tulsa law firm of Frasier, Frasier & Hickman, L.L.P. He also joined the GRDA Board in August 2003 after being appointed by Governor Henry, and serves as chairman of the GRDA Assets Committee.

Headquartered in Vinita, GRDA is a self-supporting state agency, funded by the revenues from the sale of electricity instead of taxes. GRDA transmits and delivers electricity across its 24-county service area via a sophisticated energy delivery system that includes over 1,100 miles of transmission line. GRDA sells wholesale electricity to three customer classes: municipals, electric cooperatives, and industries. Indirectly, GRDA serves an estimated 500,000 customers in Oklahoma.
