Grand Lake Area Profile

Northeast Oklahoma's beautiful Grand Lake O' The Cherokees is currently ranked as the 3rd best place in these United States of America to retire, according to the folks at Rand McNally.

What better place to learn about the Grand Lake Area than by starting with the History of Pensacola Dam, as written by Rusty Fleming, former Publisher of The Chronicle of Grand Lake? From there, you might want to browse the basic profile information below, providing facts on climate, cost of living and the like. You can view listings of Key Public Services, a Directory of Houses of Worship, Area Schools, or visit the pages about our many fine Grand Lake Country Communities.

Boaters should review GRDA's Lake Regulations and the Required Boating Safety Equipment Checklist. There's also a grid of Emergency Numbers, as well as a list of Frequently Called Numbers for your convenience.
