Easter, Spring Break & More Top

Grand Lake Area Chamber News

By Jim Sellers, Executive Director

We hope you got the Easter Eggs you wanted and all the Kids, of all ages, are Happy.

What a week with, Holy Week, Spring Break, Full Moon, and Spring all coming at the same time it was a bit confusing. I am told that it will be a long time before Easter comes this early so next year we can have our Easter Lilies. We just did not have enough time or heat to get them done.

With the year slipping away it is time for the Grand Lake Area Chamber of Commerce to print our membership directory. If you will remember, we included in our Newsletter last month, a sheet with which you could correct your information and give all the latest details of where we and others can find you and your business. Now, if you did not get the newsletter, this means one of a couple of things. Your information is not correct or Heaven forbid, you are not a current member of the Chamber.

This problem can be resolved. Go to our web site and see how you are listed. If you aren’t there, then the next question is: Are you are a member? If you are and corrections need to be made, please send us an e-mail or a Snail Mail and give us the correct information.

As the world seems to be moving faster all the time e-mail is becoming the way to communicate, and we at the chamber are doing that as well as the rest of the world. We will be using e-mail more and more whenever possible in the coming months, as it saves time, money and of course paper. Help us stay GREEN and be more cost effective.

So, a DEADLINE has been set for April 15th -- yes… “tax day” --, for everyone to have their information corrected and to the chamber office. We will then prepare the directory and get it distributed to our members and visitors. This is another great tool for area businesses to get the word out to more new customers and remind your old customers you are still ready to serve!

Just today, I received several phone calls from people wanting information about a variety of services. Many of them had looked on the internet and of course we direct them to our web site www.grandlakechamber.org . If you have a web site of your own then it can be linked from ours and your new customer is connected in a instant.

And speaking of growing, we have added another staff member to our chamber office to better serve our members and visitors around the pond. Linda Poore of Lake Hudson has joined Paula Harbuck and I to continue the work of the chamber. Linda brings great office experience and will be getting training on our software package for member services to better keep track of our members needs. Now we will be here to greet everyone that needs questions answered, maps or our members information at the office.

HAVE A GREAT GRAND DAY!

Jim
